Left Menu Navigation Menu Consolidated Thread (in General)

A thread for the navigation menu.

1. News link is a js link that changes color when a new item is added to inform the player that something new is there. Call it a Black & Decker Space Saver
2. Add Auctions to business menu

My reasons: First, the links get lost when you get down to stats. So, make room and place logo on bottom for a cushion pushing links higher up. Everything else I suggest has a reason and I will post it if you want. I do believe it to be a pretty ideal setup with logic to it.

It's a shot in the dark but if interested I can make a graphical reproduction of it for a better feel.

I like the idea of having a separate auctions link. I assume #1 will work by having fight page loads contain a bit of code indicating the time of the newest news entry.

In the same menu called Places and Tools

1) I am ok with in principle but in practice it requires a higher degree of js sophistication than I'm currently willing to debug. I will put it on my "maybe someday" list though. :)

2) no, I like having one-click access to various auction activities and making a nested menu would suck for usability

Ok, what about the idea of moving the logo to the bottom to help 'push' everything up so the menu doesn't get lost behind the chat box. You could also put that nifty search character box down there too to help with keeping the links from being blocked.
