New Character Error (bug?) (in General)

Everytime I try to create a new char it comes up with:

We had a problem processing your entry:
The ? character is not legal in a Character name.
Please back up using your browser, correct it, and resubmit your entry.
Thank you.

I've tried using a few diferent names, Punching Bag was the first one I tried and obviously doesn't have any ?s in it, tried Punching_Bag in case it was the space that was the "illegal character" in the name, also tried Chuckling Farm 2 and that didn't work either.

Any suggestions? Anyone else getting this error?
