i have a single/archer tank, and i want to change the strat. can i get (in General)

i really don't know what to do. in cb1 i always used a single tank/archer and he was great. i don't think it's working here. so i guess i'm gonna change. can i make a single mage? if so what spells do i put on him? i have a toj about 11k. and a katana. i'm armored up with cheap armor and i have a bow. can you guys help?

I would suggest giving the archer a melee weapon, so that no exp is lost.
