Dumb, but maybe not so dumb question (in General)

I woke up this morning, did my fights, and about ten characters from my fight list that didn't used to beat me beat me. Normally I don't think twice when someone wins, but really, I started losing to too many people.

Was there some ninja change that I'm not aware about? These opponents were not users of the ToE or ranged weapons, so I don't think those changes accounted for it.

If it's nothing, and I should be re-evaluating my strategy instead of writing here, please do say so, nicely.

The losses were most likely due to the ranged weapon "fix."
