Looking for a Mentor (DiT) (in General)

Special J January 26 2005 3:03 PM EST

I come from the fark zone, recently a person has left a link to this site, and Id imagine they just made a killing.

Anyhow, I followed the tutorial until it sent me on my merry way, and thats where I got lost. I have no idea what stratagy is a solid one to follow. I have trained and untrained skills, bought weapons, sold them, attemped to figure out the forge (now that was a funny site), and I am still as lost, if not more, than I was to begin with.

So I am looking for a person who is willing to answer basic questions, note; I will not ask something along the lines of "how do I become to the best", because honestly, Im tired of being the best at everything ;).
More to the tune of, why should I train DX and not ST, or HP, or one of those fancy spell items.

So on and So on, please if you would like to take up this task, I ask that you to don't speak to me in that idiotic shorthand/number language those twits on the intranets have invented. I don't want to have to decode your text ;)

Good then! Happy to see that people are willing to lend a hand. Just let me know how I should contact you, currently and while I am at work, I only have email as they block activity except the cut down version of the internet thanks to websense!

Being cute only qualifies certain things ;)

Kittens are cute as well, but they are not qualified speed bumps, with the exception to the above picture.

The starting tutorial stated I should build DX very high, but I am seeing people with no DX and all of thier points sunk into HP. Is the tutorial behind on times, or am I missing something obvious?

Also on the part of spells, I read up on each one I can get and they all seems fairly useful, but are they worth the XP they take?

Also whoever keeps buying all the armour before poor people get a chance, I do hope your small toe becomes the target of a coffee table leg. ;)

The minions with nothing but HP are probably mages, which need no STR or DEX. All the DD spells are worth their XP, fireball is good if you don't mind hurting other minions in melee combat, CoC is just like FB but slightly weaker with no splash damage. MM is a powerful DD spell that fires against one minion. Dispell magic is really good, unless you have any enchant offense spells. AS is good for mage groups and some other 4 minion groups. Haste and GS are helpful for special cases, but shouldn't really be used my most strategies. VA is very good if your minion do a lot of damage in melee, but not for mages and mostly ranged attack minions, as they don't gain any HP for VA with magic and ranged combat. GA is helpful, but only if you have 3 or 4 minons, and you have lots of HP, to take the damage. EC is quite helpful against tanks of any kind, as AMF is against DD mages. I'm not really sure about protection quite yet. Each of the skills are quite helpful in their own way. Evasion is good to train on enchanters and mages, but not too high, or their spells will not be that good. BL is great for tanks that do a lot of damage in melee. Archery is great for tanks who so a lot more in ranged than melee. UC is only useful for certain minions, ones with the special UC equipment, that gives them bonuses. I think that covers all the spells :P.

2 Beginner Strats
A single tank, training HP/ST/DX evenly is the best way to go, you don't need skills or any enchantments yet, just those three stats. As you get up to 10k Power Rating consider Bloodlust or Archery as a skill, they can be very useful but not necessary. Your best friend when you're using this strategy is Businesses > Rentals.
It can and does work well at any PR(Power Rating)

2nd choice,
Single mage, HP/FB(Fireball) trained evenly and DM (Dispell Magic) trained to half the level of your other stats. That's all you need, no weapons needed, you save up your money and if you want at 100k+ pr convert to a single tank and you will have plenty of money for weapons. Also this allows for you to level up quicker, just spend all your money early on BA(Battle Allocation, look under Manage Characters).

Cut and pasted from something MrChuckls wrote. Also visit cb1.cbplayers.com It is being updated from the CB1 days to the new CB2 days as we speak. That will yield a lot of relevant information. I heard CBot is fun to talk to...
