Mages Position // effecting damage. (in General)

Ok, I have this setup: EMMM

Largest Fireball in the back (30k) smallest in the front(18k)

I was noticing that fight after fight, the 18k minion was inflicting around 30k damage per fight, average... My 24k fireball was dealing around 6k per fight, and my 30k fb was dealing even less...

It seems the minion in front will do way more damage, compared to the back minions... 3-5x more in most cases...

What throws me off, is that the front minion dies rather fast, and STILL does insanely more dmg...

Just wondering if this has been adressed, because It's weird seeing my 18k fireball, doing 5x more damage then my 30k fireball, especially when the larger lasts more rounds.

My fireballs from largest to smallest.

Ares Fireball: 28,383/29,261 (4,507)
Hades Fireball: 24,129 (3,831)
Zues Fireball: 17,954 (2,851)

I've been swapping them out, and there is almost no damage differance between Ares in front, and Zues in front, although the minion in front is doing extremely more damage then the other 2 mages, despite the power of the fireball.

Example:

Post-battle stats
Minion EXP HP ST DX AC DI Ammo
Herc 478 -6,980 20 20 4 0 1
Ares 479 -3,063 20 19 22 20,589
Hades's familiar -464 20 20 0 8
Hades 478 -6,961 20 20 6 12,136
Zues 477 8,755 20 19 2 4,803

That obviously is with Ares in front.
Now putting the weaker fireball up front:

Post-battle stats
Minion EXP HP ST DX AC DI Ammo
Herc 513 -3,291 20 20 4 0 1
Zues 512 -1,184 20 19 2 18,549
Hades's familiar -3,121 20 20 0 326
Hades 513 10,583 20 20 6 13,019
Ares 514 16,049 20 19 22 13,654

Not as exteme of a differance as i've been seeing, Let me get a few controlled battles...

Little differance. (No seekers or amf involved)

Thoughts?

I think it has something to do with the order attacks take place in a round.

I have a single minion with FB and a ToF. Whenever my minion kills someone in a round, my main (attacking after my familiar) does reduced damage, as his FB is still splitting his damage over those minions alive at the start of the round, while only damaging who ever is left alive after my familiar has attacked.

Hmmm... I don't think I explained that well... Here's an example;

My familiar does 25K damage, I do 75K

I face a 5 minion team, 3 enchaters (20 HP each), a Familiar (20 HP also) and a Tank (100K Hit points).

Round 1
My Familiar does 5K damage to everyone (25K total damage inflicted - the 4 minions with 20 HPs die)
I do 15K damage to the remainig Tank (15K total damag einflicted instead of 75K)

;)

Also, my familiar only has 20 HPs, but on first rounds when he takes damage from AMF he is no longer a target for my opponent to attack, all their attacks hit my main instead...

Sorry if this is rambling, I've only just woken up! ;P

I think what GL is saying - your first mage has more targets to hit so will do more damage. He is probably killing them before the back mages have a chance to hit. Especially if your battles are only lasting through ranged.

But its also because FB (and I suppose CoC) work out it's damage as per the number alive at the start of the round as opposed to the number actually attacked.

Sorry GL, I missed that in your explanation - I've only just woken up too!

:) And now I have to go cook breakfast for the wife, while she watches Soccer AM.
