AMF damage. (in General)

Apparently this is reduced by AC?
Don't have anything to back that up as I have 0 AC so obviously testing it would be a great way to spend my BA. ;)
But some reliable vets say it does so I'll accept that for now.

If AC effects it, then does a ToE not?

King Chuckles takes damage from his own Fireball (6742)!
King Chuckles's Fireball hit *whirr* [5868], *click* [6812], acorn [6006], happy squirrel's familiar [2217], happy squirrel [4972]

This is against a .27 AMF (have tested a few times).

Whereas against GA and DD my ToE reduces damage quite noticably.

So my questions here being, do ToEs not reduce AMF damage at all?
Is this by design or a bug? (Unlikely to be a bug but if it doesn't reduce it then I can hope that it is a bug ;)
Does AC block AMF damage (I trust what i've been told but just looking to confirm it)?
And last of all, are there any other ways to reduce AMF damage, other than having a bigger DD?

Mr C, from what I've seen (I could be wrong and have been many times!) amf damage hits you at source - for instance a CoBF doesn't seem to protect against AMF - it seems that the field hits you under your cloak. I could be wrong in presuming that the same is true of tattoos - but as you seem to 'wear' a tatt I'd say it's the same.

I'll try and say that so that it makes sense =) - an AMF forces your DD back on you before it leaves you. You're generating the damage from your minion's 'body'. It doesn't seem to leave your minion and come back through any armour, CoBF etc. It's like causing a gun to backfire - the bullet doesn't leave the barrel then come back - it explodes in the gun.

Thanks :)

My understanding of reducing AMF damage was that the only way to do it was to make sure your DD spell was much larger than the AMF you're facing. That's certainly the case for decay for instance. Although decay is unaffected by armour so maybe that's not grounds for any assumption.

heh.. my idea of reducing AMF damage, is to have as small DD spells as possibly. (0).

Moose, you're right!
Maybe I should try a single enchanter strat...
I bet you'd just love that wouldn't you ;P
