I've got a mentee having this problem. I've had it before and fixed it, but I don't remember how.
Using FF, chat won't scroll with new lines. It just sits there and you have to scroll in manually. I know you can fix it by like clicking the box and hiding Tab + something, or something, but I don't remember exactly how. Any suggestions?
Installing either a newer version of Java or an older version of Java has worked for some people.

I have FF and my chat works just fine, I don't think the browser is the issue.

I know Spec, and a lot of people haven't had this problem, but a lot of FF users have. I can think of at least 5 off the top of my head, and only FF.

You have the version 1.5 Java(t's labeled as Version 5 at java.com), you need to revert to Version 1.4
I had the same problem earlier this week, and reverting to the older Java version resolved it.

yes. do what TW said, i had the same problem.
Likewise. I had to install FF, which required that I update my Java, then uninstall that Java, and reinstall with a version one older than the "newest".
