Single Tank(archer) strat question (in General)

Ive been pondering the addition of a spell to my single tank-archer character. Either Dispel Magic or Anti-magic field. SO far, All single mages house em, even much lower PR. Mages are just more powerful, so I need some sorta counter. Any advice, which spell you would use and why? Or not use one at all?

The problem is that the enchantment would take away from your other stats. In a single mage that isn't as bad since you only train HP and your DD anyway. With an archer you are already training three stats and archery. It is a tough question.

But, IF you add a spell I would suggest AMF since it's the dd damage you want to avoid from the powerful mages.

Depends on who is beating you. You're vulnerable against single mages and 4minion teams - mostly mage so I'd go with AMF. DM kills AS/GA alright, making it easier for you to cut through multi teams but AMF dishes out damage additional to your own. If you can cut down on a fireball mage's damage output you'll last longer.

But... and it's a big but..... do you need to add it yet? Extra enchantments mean that you're diluting the basic stats (hp/st/dx) further and those stats are what any single tank needs the most. If you have a Tattoo of Augmentation - lesser or full it could take up some of that on st/dx so you could train up an enchantment easily but if not stick with the basics for now and add it later.

Of course it's all up to you! I'd go with AMF, it's far more valuable against far more opponents.

AMF, I use a single tank and amf is the only reason i win any fight.

AMF is definately what I was leaning towards....And like you said it will take away from my primary three stats, which Id rather not do, but I just lose way too often. Im at around 39k PR and lose consistently to 28Kish PR mage teams. I can always get em the second time around, but that first time I dish out 50-60k damage and still lose out. Hoping the AMF will add enough to it to see my hps last thru. Or I can just add to hps and hope to last longer.

Using a ToA which is giving me about 11k str/dex currently also.

I refer to have a ToE, instead of a ToA for single tank. Your dex/str combo is high enough for most of the team out there. ToE acts as superior AC enchantment vs all form of attack, beside decay.

ToA = tank on multiple minion team. ToE = single tank, a must. If you have ToE, train about 1/5 to 1/6 of your exp in AMF. That would be most effective against 4 minion mage team.
