What's the cost/XP curve on recruiting new minions? (in General)

I'm curious if anyone has looked into it (aside from Todd-Spydah in CB1)

Even a guesstimate would be good enough for me. (1xp per $cb? 1 per 10?)

$3/1EXP if it's the expensive option.

I think $5/1EXP for the cheap option. - Not so sure about the 2nd one but the first is right.
