possible virus? please help (in Off-topic)

Any help on this would be appreciated. What is happening is on nearly every website I visit there will be links scattered around the text of the page. It does seem to be occurring on the same groups of letters regardless of the page i.e. ad, ads, act and others. Each link is for the same site and for a given group of letters is always the same "referral" id. If I refresh the page the links will disappear but if I retype the url they will return. Also only seems to affect IE since I notice no links when using the AOL browser (only other one on this computer). The other computer on the network (through a DSL modem/router) has none of these issues. I have run every ad/spyware/virus check I can find and nothing is found. I have the link available for anyone interested through chatmail as it referenced adult material I will not post it in this thread. I have not click on any of the links. The only thing the non-affected sites have in common is frames (CB1 is effected but CB2 is not) Your thoughts?

looks like your best bets are reinstalling windows, or just installing firefox. :)

You may have some sort of BHO (Browser Helper Object) installed on your computer - try downloading BHOdemon and seeing what it comes up with.

Thanx Sacred, it actually found something that when disabled all the links went away, thanks again
