Logo Contest -- 100k Pot (in Contests)

Hey guys. I'm looking for someone to design a logo for me. The artist of the selected winning logo will win 100,000 CB2D.

Criteria:
1) The Logo is for a brass quintet called "Brass In White Satin." It needs to contain the words "Brass in White Satin" and "Huntsville, AL".

2) Maximum of two colors, not including white.

3) Logo would preferably feature either a trombone, trumpet, french horn, and/or tuba, as well as music notes/notation of some kind.

4) Preferred look is elegant, traditional, or stylish. Please no contemporary, 'post modern,' or 'natural' appearances. This is a formal (tuxedo) quintet and the logo should reflect that.

5) All submissions should be jpg, gif, or png format, 400x400 pixels. Please post a LINK to the image. E-mailed submissions will not be accepted.

This contest will run until Tuesday, Feb. 22nd unless otherwise posted. All rights reserved, including the right to end the contest preemptively.

You want a professional logo done for 100k CB2 when if you paid someone to do it, it would likely cost a few thousand dollars or even closer to ten thousand for a really nice one???

Actually, a logo designed by a professional custom design team costs about $199, and includes 3-5 design drafts and whatever revisions are necessary until you're satisfied. And I'm not exactly asking for a professional logo. I want something that looks sophisticated that I can put on fliers and possibly business cards in the future.

BIWS is a not-for-profit youth quintet that I manage and perform in. What little money we make goes to expanding our repertoire. We don't exactly have $200 to dish out for a logo design. But I don't think 100k for a little idea-izing and PhotoShopping from CBers is a bad deal for either party.

Moomba design is very good. I am taken by his artistic style. Nicely done.

Glory, my dad runs a logo business on the side, and if he's making thousands per logo I don't know what the heck he's doing with the spare cash. $200 is a better guess, and it's not like it's something hard to do...

[LB]Iceman, I want to know what happen to this contest. You can't just run a contest, promised to something and let go of your end of the deal. Moomba might've spent a lot of time on his logo because i know i spent quite a while. Even if none of us wins please inform us that, without saying anything I personally feel like you scammed us. I don't want your 100k I just want to know if i'm being scamz0red.

I really don't think he is scamming you.
Maybe he just can't get to a computer or maybe he just hasn't used either idea because they weren't what he wanted.
He has no end of a deal to hold up unless he uses one and we can't say whether or not he has.
Finally it makes you look bad accusing at first instant just because he hasn't replied in the last 4 days because of the fact he hasn't been logged on for a week.
Maybe waiting for him to have the chance to scam you before accusing him of that would be a good idea.

Hey guys! Sorry, my usual login (work) has been locked out for a while so I haven't been around. No, I'm not trying to scam anyone. Thanks for the support Zoglog. To be honest, I could've responded earlier from home, but I was also holding out a little for some more entries, but they don't look forthcoming. So, here's the situation.

I am e-mailing the entries (including one of my own) to my brass quintet and they will vote on them. Four choices: a) Moomba, b) Lyan, c) Me, d) None. If they vote for a or b, obviously that person will get the pot. If they vote for me, I'll send 50k to both Moomba and Lyan. If they choose none, I will not award the pot and I will rerun the contest later. I will let you know the results as soon as everyone in my quintet responds.

Oh and in case anyone is interested, this is what I came up with:

The vote was unanimous for Moomba's logo. Though we've elected not to use any logo at the moment (I'll probably run this again in the summer) rules are rules, and the vote turned out in Moomba's favor.
