Is there a published policy on FS/WTB auctions? (in General)

Two reasons - first is because of the past discussions on sellers rights, etc. Second is that I made the min bid on a ToF (only bidder), and the seller is now trying to haggle in chatmail. If there's no policy then I will haggle, but if there is it saves me the effort (and points others to a fixed policy).

As far as I know, there is nothing that says the seller actually has to sell, even if the min price is met. The only reason admins would get involved is if he agreed, you paid, and then he tried to haggle.

That's odd. It means that even if the seller post a minimum bid that they are willing to sell for and someone makes that bid, they are under no obligation to stand behind the details of their post for the minimum bid. I would extend that to the buy now - can you trust the buy now they post? Not carping here - just want to know the extent of buyer beware that CB has.

Well you can't force someone to sell thier stuff, and it seems like doing so would be a complete waste of the admins time, not to mention tick some people off.

Hence the appeal of the auctions - no hassle. Very good - thanks for the info.

No goods exchanged means no enforcement by the admins. However if a seller won't stand by their minimum bid or a buy now bid they tend to get a reputation within the community. I sure as heck wouldn't bid on another one of their posts.
