um, only 1 shot vs. 20 dx in ranged? Ran this test a multitude of times, the only diff. is that sometimes I only hit his Jig once :p someone help me out here, archery 1.0, 150k+ dx vs. 20 dx... /\88/\

+ on bow....?

QBsutekh137 March 11 2005 12:31 PM EST

Spydah, I have seen huge dex differences yield a surprising number of singles. I was told "randomness". Not all that easy to swallow when dexterity difference is one of the few advantages my tank has over mage teams, but there it is.

Has any one gotten more than a double hit?

I have seen Dex gaps of 100k+ give only double and sometimes single hits, I am also confused...

QBsutekh137 March 11 2005 12:47 PM EST

I do not think dexterity alone can give triple hits, only doubles. Triples+ come from weapon plus-to-hit.

Todd March 11 2005 12:48 PM EST

I have got double hits, but no higher. My dex is only 110k or something. and my elbow is +46.

But, back to Spid. IMO, a tank with so much more dex than his opponent should be double hitting almost every round. Why even have a ToA then? A tank is offensive, and must have his str and dex work for him on offense. Sure, big dex prevents people from hitting you with their weapon, but that's defense.

And, um..

Frozen Cylo's Cone of cold hit Spid [171385]

Ouch, man. I feel for you :)

Todd March 11 2005 12:53 PM EST

Hah.. I spoke too soon. I was fighting the same person as Spid to see how I fared.

In ranged (archery, +46 bow +0 arrows, 110k Dex) I saw this:
Tank hit Frozen Cylo [33004]
Tank hit Frozen Cylo [27706]
Tank hit Frozen Cylo [24908]

Looks like there might be a bug in the code that doesn't take the ToA DX into account during battles. Just a guess.

spydah March 11 2005 1:49 PM EST

The bow is +1 :p

My nat dx is 65k+, that is 65k more then Cylo still. I would think that would be MORE then enough to insure double hits always... apparently not however.

Why are you picking on me?.. j/k but these tests will now be different if you try again.. the ToJ is no longer equiped now it's a ToE .. now i also don't understand.. the dx gap should cause more doubles i would guess.. not that i'm complaining but i understand your question for sure.

Cylo

Almuric might be right. Might be a bug.

I took off my ToA, leaving me with 45k dex instead of 110k.

I still hit the same amount, and in fact got another triple hit:
Tank shot Frozen Cylo [14312]
Tank shot Frozen Cylo [10462]
Tank shot Frozen Cylo [14931]

Looks like the strength is counted, since is much less.
