Would it be possible to make it so you can merge non-equipped ammo with equipped ammo? I always have to unequip my ammo, then merge, then re-equip which leaves me more vulnerable if even for a short time. I don't know what it would take to implement this, but it is something I think would be beneficial.

I would vote against it. Then I would have no choice in which bundles of ammo I wish to have merged and wich not. If you are afraid of being vulnerable when merging ammo, then use a small bundle (say 10) of very upgraded ammo. Instead of unequipping your current bundle, just equip that one. Now you are even stronger during a merge ;)

It takes 10 seconds to merge ammo. doesn't the comatose feature prevent you from being attacked a 100 times/second?
