strategy help (in General)

Recently my character has slowed down in increasing his score/pr. I usually beat on average about 5/10 people in the fightlist that appears after training. Any strat help would be greatly appreciated. I like the idea of having an enchanter first and a tank following that up to protect the mages behind him. If you think there are more effective spells to be trained, that is the info i would like to hear about. The character is CBGuy11. Thanks.

The following are my ideas and arent against anyone else thinking :)

Its a good idea to limit the number of things that have a negative
effect on you.
Your team will take a hit from Dispel, AMF, Evasion, bigger Jig (higher DX), Giant Str Boosted Jig (higher DX), any 3 or less minion team boosting DX, concentrated attacks...

All your hits are low powered and will be easily handled by low AMF (for DD) and ToE etc. Any ToE that isn't overpowered will give 75% HP reduction on all attacks on the minion with it.

It may be wise to put a few HP on your DD minions to help them live longer. If you have 2 Ablative shields you will take a double hit from Dispel. Something to be aware of if you take that route.

The Lesser ToI will have give less and less % of your overall damage done the longer you have it, effectively becoming weaker in comparison to your minions. Get a full tattoo at least 0.7 of your PR in level and not ridiculously big.
ie a big ToE will give 75% reduction in attack power on you if it isn't overpowered. The tattoo will raise the PR you fight at.
If your character cant hit hard enough at the PR/Score level you need to fight at, you have invested too much PR in the size of your tattoo.

By analyzing the fight data of any Draws, you can see if you only just died (your final HP will be a low negative) or if you were lucky to get a draw. If you need a few more HP, give your characters some.

Equally well, you can check your opponents starting HP and see how many HP the Ablative shield added to the minions and DD tat get and add them up. Compare that to the final damage you did to them. If its close, boost your firepower a little.

Thats a small part of it :)

you may want to look at getting an AMF or Dispel too. Too small and it wont have to much effect, so balance wisely.

So basically i should train more HP onto my mages so they survive longer, and i should trade in my LToI for a full tattoo. Any other thoughts? Constructive criticism is always appreciated.

My suggestions;

1) Think up some decent names for minions.
2) Retrain the last CoC caster into another pure AS caster and put him infront of tank.
3) Unlearn the hps on "tank" and put into str / dex.
4) Buy a tattoo of ice (full) they only cost about 100K replace the lesser.
5) Consider converting your "tank" into a wall, no tank in a 4 minion team has a hope of dealing decent damage against other tanks. I.e Forget weapons and just kit him out with AC.

It's not perfect, my ultimate suggestion would be to forget the character and try one with less minions :)

u seem to be doin pretty good to me, your score is about a third over your PR, i dont see n e thing wrong with that

Buy the supportership: you have no idea how useful is the fightlist.
You will be able to focus on the opponents you can beat, without worrying about the ones you cannot.
Plus, Jon will appreciate the money.

I like mythology's idea, seems to be the most cost-effective and least complicated. Do any other people agree with it and think its a good idea? By the way, can anyone explain to me why my scores shoots up to 50k whenever im gone? (ex. i come back and my score is around 50k, of course i can't beat anyone with a score that high so it is quite irritating...) Keep up the good ideas, there all very helpful so far.

CBMan11 April 14 2005 4:58 PM EDT

However, why would i want to untrain HP on a minion im trying to make a wall?

Rubberduck[T] [Hell Blenders] April 14 2005 5:24 PM EDT

Myth doesn't suggest you unlearn the tank hp to make a wall. Suggestion 3 is just the opposite - make the tank into a more effective hitter by increasing ST and DX and rely on the AS for HP, suggestions 3 and 5 are obviously mutually exclusive.

Your score is getting boosted by the brak show who occasionally draws to you.

Looking at your recent fight log the best thing you can do is to lose less fights. Either, as has been suggested get supportership (the favorites list makes things a lot easier) or stop fighting blind, inspect everyone you fight and work out if you are likely to beat them before just trying to fight. Then remember who you beat and fight those until they are out of your range.

Alrighty, I think i will try mythology's idea then, but first does everybody agree that i should sell my weapons? or should i keep them and just untrain my hp and put into st/dx anyway. Also, would getting a full ToI be a good idea or is there a more effective one for me?

CBMan11 April 14 2005 7:17 PM EDT

Also, should i buy a base tattoo or try to go for one that has a higher level? I think someone mentioned getting a tattoo with 70% of your MPR.

CBMan11 April 14 2005 7:34 PM EDT

I asked my mentor what he thought and he pointed out that i would be very susceptible to DM. Im thinking maybe i will just inspect people and see if they have DM before i fight them. any thoughts?

Manta April 15 2005 5:52 AM EDT

You have a 4 minions team (plus tattoo): DM will be always a problem for you.
For instance, a team using DM and FB or CoC will most likely kill all your minions by round 4.

If you want to convert your tank to a wall, put a CoBF and a mage shield on him; moreover, drop haste and go full AMF on the second minion.
Besides, as suggested, convert the MM minion to AS, and keep using a CoC tattoo.
You will lose against DM, win against tanks, and get even against FB mages (I think).

Whatever you do, upgrade from lesser to full tattoo: with a lesser tattoo, you are wasting the part of your rewards that goes into tattoo experience.

If you buy a base tattoo, do not convert your tank to a wall until your tattoo grows to a decent size, otherwise you will have no damage dealing minion.
