Economic Clan Suggestion (in General)

Barron [CB2BANK Investors Club] April 15 2005 12:14 PM EDT

One of the great things about an economic clan is the lower transfer fees. I know there are already reduced transfer fees between clan members, but I would like to see it reduced even more between clan members. This is the reason:

One of the ideas that we've kicked around and even tried in our own economic clan is the Team Concept for forging. Passing an item from one forger to another within the clan to utilize BA and to speed up the process. It's an awesome idea, but the transfer fees still make it not worthwhile from an economic standpoint.

So, Jon, would you please consider lowering the transfer fees for items between economic clan members. I'd love to see this idea work. Thanks. And I 'd like to hear comments from others in forging clans and other economic clans.

Aren't a lot of player forged items lent instead of transfered? If so, can you transfer loaned items?

Barron [CB2BANK Investors Club] April 15 2005 2:30 PM EDT

Myonax I don't know the answer to that. The whole point is that an economic clan is a 'Business'. If you were going to use someone's stapler in your office, you wouldn't be charged a fee or need to rent it to use that stapler. I feel that economic clans should be treated as businesses. Allow members within economic clans to transfer items without incurring an significant expenses, possibly even cash too.

no you cannot transfer loaned items on cb2*

*you can on cb1 tho...lol

In order to do this, the loaner (person wanting an item forged) will have to perm send,

Thanks for the info Smallpau1. So, that strengthens the argument to allow economic clans to exchange items without incurring transfer fees. The whole idea of an economic clan is to do just that, with the sacrifice of giving up substantial rewards and experience that you could get from a regular fighting clan. For a forging clan or one that has an auctioneer where items are transferred regularly, it is essential, otherwise economically not very sound.

I tend to lean with Barron on this one.

I put my vote in, so long as I get a special interest rate from now on, of .5%. Lobby for my vote! Its the American way.

(I'm sure this has been suggested before..)

As normal clan fighters get a bonus to xp, why not give econ clan fighters a bonus to cash won? This would be based on the econ clans position.

Gl there is a similiar question there in the FORS. If we are going to push this, we need to be careful how we phrase everything.

mchaos April 15 2005 3:44 PM EDT

From the FORS:

Q: Why not give the top economic clans a large bonus similar to the bonus standard clans get?

A: People who make this suggestion haven't thought about how easy it is to "manufacture" eclan revenue. As things stand, there is a disincentive to do this in the form of the transfer fee. If top eclans got an extra bonus, this disincentive wouldn't be enough.

Instead, eclan benefits are large across the board. (I doubt most people offering this suggestion have considered that if eclan bonuses were implemented, the base benefit level would be lowered commensurately to keep the average constant.)

Barron [CB2BANK Investors Club] April 15 2005 3:55 PM EDT

Please, lets stay on track here. I'm not looking for more bonuses. What I think we need for economic clans is fewer economic penalties regarding between clan transfers. That's very different, and truly makes sense from an economic point of view, if an economic clan is to act like a business.

Barron [CB2BANK Investors Club] April 15 2005 3:58 PM EDT

err, I mean within clan transfers. Although, one could make an argument that 2 economic clans may enter a business agreement, therefore transfers between them should be treated with fewer penalties---but that's a different question. Lets focus on the primary question here of decreasing transfer fees within a clan and between clan memebers.

I agree with Barron. I think eliminating the transfer fee between members of the same economic clan is a good incentive for the creation of forging clans, which other than bank loans, seems to be the only reason to form an economic clan.

Barron [CB2BANK Investors Club] April 15 2005 10:18 PM EDT

Thanks Kultur. I can't imagine why any economic clan would not want this to happen. Nor would members of regular clans oppose this suggestion as it can't hurt them. I think it would just strengthen the economics of the game.
