Alleviation wants you! Or the guy behind you. Hey, maybe even that hot (in General)

BrandonLP April 23 2005 8:43 PM EDT

In all seriousness, I'm moving to Boulder next Thursday to start with IBM. In my inability to decide between a few apartments in Longmont (not far from Boulder, but cheaper to live in) with internet or easy access to public transportation to work, I can't say for sure when I'll have internet access. Some places offer it with housing, some don't and I'm not really going to base my living arrangements off of anything I've yet to go inside of.

Therefore, Alleviation needs a replacement for me. If you haven't heard of us, it's because we're brand new. If you think we must be a terrible clan because we're brand new, I have a list of the top three clans at the moment:

1.) Alleviation (9,117)
2.) Battle Royale (8,431)
3.) The Disappointment Llamas (7,190)

I'll be leaving the clan in the capable hands of Fuh. If you think you're up for it post a resume of sorts here (clan background, CP earned per day, how long you've been playing, if you can stand Lukey, Monty, and Leon in the same room, if given ops will you please kick those three constantly, etc. etc.). Thanks and have a great weekend.

Alleviation is such a good clan. You don't want to miss this chance to join.

Undertow April 23 2005 11:20 PM EDT

Or... you know... that brother in arms (insert the name of my clan here, I can't remember it). Especially them hot chicks.

BrandonLP April 24 2005 12:34 AM EDT

I forgot that, thanks Undertow. As mentioned by Undertow, Domination, an allied clan, is recruiting as well. Please see Kaiousama if you're interested. And by interested, we mean we'll pay you to sit around chat with ops and kick Monty.

liar.

We have hot chicks in CB? I must've missed them when my head was in the punch bowl.

5 ToE single mages. Of course you're #1. Your #1 detractor also happens to be a ToE single mage.

This has gotta get fixed.

BrandonLP April 24 2005 2:22 AM EDT

Being a ToE mage has nothing to do with mainly targeting 3-point targets. I could be a single UC tank and lower my list by about half and still make the same CP, Mags. Being a single mage ToE user has next to nothing to do with clan points.

Mags April 24 2005 2:27 AM EDT

I could've mentioned your score:PR ratios too but I didn't. My point is you can't be profitably or easily farmed. You can lose clan points as well as gain them.

Hellfire has 14108 positive points. Brimstone has 13186 positive points. You have 13167. You have more than 1,250 more CP than either.

BrandonLP April 24 2005 2:33 AM EDT

Can't be easily farmed? I find that hard to believe. A decent sized CoBF stops me dead in my tracks. Shiv's character used to beat me hardcore this week with just AMF/GA and a ToJ until I put more time into my char than he did. Heck, most of Hellfire could farm me with ease. I think you have a little bit of a point, but to say we're number one just because we're all single mage ToE users is pretty ridiculous.

Whether or not you think ToE needs to be nerfed has nothing to do with the fact that we've put hard work and effort into our clan to make it the best that it is and I don't appreciate you undermining that just because we use an effective strategy.

preach on brother

Mags April 24 2005 3:06 AM EDT

Absolutely, the fact that you've put in the hours and the battles and dedication isn't lost on me. I've gotten 4k points before in a day. It's really hard. I've also lost a bunch of points being easily beaten. That wasn't hard. ;D

Racking up all those points is a lot easier when your strategy is devastating against almost all others. You're getting very large XP/$ rewards because you're fighting scores well above your PR. There's a great number of point-earning clan characters you can farm to choose from. There are relatively few who can effectively farm you.

My first post was too blunt, but the standard-issue ToE mage strategy obviously plays a big role in your success.

BrandonLP April 24 2005 3:11 AM EDT

I agree that it's partially due to the ToE, but by the same token, there are a great many non-ToE users out there that can demolish our characters with ease around our PR. A lot of clan strategy has to do with targeting.

{CB1}Lukeyman April 24 2005 9:22 AM EDT

Mags, if you think it's so good and everything, why not change your strat to it?

Mags April 24 2005 12:57 PM EDT

Because the change month is one week away, and I like variety in strategy. Otherwise CB becomes just which mage has more PR. Look what happened to poor Talhearn's score:PR once he moved away from the ToE single mage strategy to single tank... (190k:240k right now)

It *is* so good and everything. Look at what happened to your own score:PR when you joined 'em. I used to be able to beat you. Now you've got 230k:170k.

BrandonLP April 24 2005 1:00 PM EDT

Lukey, let's not pick fights. Mags, thank you for handling that well.
