Clans full of weenies? (in General)

Karmic Mishap [Soup Ream] April 26 2005 6:37 PM EDT

There has been a disturbing increase of the 'TATTOOS-R-US' strategy of forming a clan full of people who are so weak, nobody else in a clan bothers to attack them. These weenie clans have been doing rather well lately, and it's buggin the heck out of me. How do other clanners feel about picking out one of the more persistently annoying of these and targeting them for deletion?

Just a thought... a vengeful and satisfying one, yes, but still a thought.

Agreed, I got 4 of them on my fight list, I'm amazed they rank 16 atleast they got members that atleast most are fighting getting some score, unlike my clan...... I'm doing all the work!. Anyways is there a way we can kill them?

it is good that there are top clans with low pr people. that way if I want to start over...I can still do so while getting a good amount of clan points

yup but its annoying they are up there is what karmic is saying hehe.

As a former member of TATTOOs-R-US I have to warn you that if you mess with them I will do everything in my power to thwart you.

As for the issue at large, if you are really so bothered by the low-pr clans, add them to your favorites list, waste your BA knocking them down, and stop whining about it. Alternately, recruit some lower-pr people for your own clan and encourage them to beat on little clqns

What do you think this will accomplish? Do you think every clan that isn't your average four high PR group will just disband their clans?

Karmic Mishap [Soup Ream] April 27 2005 6:24 AM EDT

Of course not.. I don't really expect to accomplish anything.... That's such a big goal... I just like to shake things and people up, that's all. ^.~

i dont understand

so, they are low pr so peeps don't fight them and take their clan points that they get from fighting non clan people?

isn't that like 1 point per fight?
so they gotta fight like 2k fights per day for 2k clan points?

damn them

how dare they!

I'm not supporting this post, just explaining it in more detail.

There are always plenty of clan people to fight (2pt kill) at nearly every PR range, it's the 3-pointers that don't come in until 50k PR or so. So it's a piece of cake for a small character to rake in 2k CP's per day *without* buying BA.

Karmic's point is that these type of clans can easily cram in 8 members and earn lots of clan points per day while getting hit by very few people due to their low scores/PR. You're looking at 16k CP per day if they all use 3/4 of their BA per day. Increase that number to about 30k if everyone uses every single BA including bought. ;)

if you can't beat them, join them

The problem is (and I know because CoU was like this for a while) that most of those low PR guys don't fight much at all. We had an open policy and got to like 12 guys at one point, but half of them barely logged on once a day, so it wasn't that big of a deal.

Now I'm not saying it wouldn't be possible for a bunch of serious players to start new characters and do it, but for the most part it's new guys.

I don't see what the big deal is though, 3% bonus doesn't mean much, and that's all you get at like 15th place.

Speaking from experience a large group for low-to-mid pr characters can get loads of points and take over the top spots...temporarily at least. In cb1 I had a clan (Demonic Horde) that did just that. We upset the hierarchy of the clans and took first place from Hellfire and got the most clan points i have ever seen a clan get (just over 20k).

This happened for two main reason
1) it did not make sense for the higher pr characters (which all the top clans were full of) to attack us and take our points (and lose xp and money for fighting so far below their pr)
2) we all were either in the 9 or 10 ba refresh rate (so we had more ba to spend)

However, the run was short lived as we gained pr rather quickly, largely due to the 15% bonus and the fact that we had several of the hated and feared ELB archers. We did stay in the top 5-10 clans most of the time but we never had a strangle hold on 1st once we started getting in range of the larger characters (I still remember the first time Spid showed up in my recent battles) and started having less BA to use.

The only long-term fear you should have from the "weenie clans" is that they are searching for a core group of members that will eventually be smaller but full of very dedicated members (although we already have several of those around, check the Top Clans for a list of them.)
Unless they plan on pulling a SoV and switching out characters all the time (which if they are using tattoos would just be stupid) they will eventually find themselves cutting members left and right or having huge penalties from being over their pr limit.

Short version: they may take a top spot but only if they can find lots of newbs that will actually put in a lot of time and even then they will have to make very large changes (ie giving lots of members the boot) if they want to keep a top spot once their members start to grow.
