Battle Cries!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (in General)

Could we have the automatic "!" removed from battle cries? I understand they are "cries", but for some minions, exclamatory remarks just aren't their style.

Take the character Black Card Situation, for example. Lister (disregard the minion name, it's Lister) _might_ shout something when he offs an adversary, but he is just as likely to deliver a deadpan, "Up yours." before toddling off for a vindaloo. Or even a, "What's that then?", confused because of drunkeness or a wicked hangover.

The minions on Cougars would certainly never be caught dead shouting. That would...take too much energy. They are too busy working crosswords and watching small portions of music videos. After killing an opponent, Grover would be more concerned with naming all the Friday The 13th movies than he would about cleaning the blood of his Katana (subsequently, his weapon is in abysmal shape). Max definitely revels in his enemy's destruction, but deep in his Heart of Darkness he really just wishes he were retiring after a lifetime of hard labor. Seriously. Finally, we have Otis standing in front. Wearing his trusty pajama top under his corduroy blazer (you know, the kind with the patches on the elbows), he could never hurt a fly anyway. But if in some future team configuration he DOES deliver a killing blow, he certainly wouldn't make loud noises about it. Otis would murmur something about the cheese fry floating in his beer and then take off. He has a book club meeting to get to.

Anyway, I just thought it would be nice to end battle cries with something other than "!". A period, a question mark, even a smilie! And allowing such inanity would actually result in slightly less code and less processing (assuming the "!" is now concatenated to the end of the battle cry string in a standard <sBattleCry + "!"> fashion).

So let us decide our own punctuation! Come on, people! Stand up and fight for your right to end your battle cries the way you see fit!

Two, four, six, eight; it's our right to punctuate!

I'd like longer battle cries in that case as well. Too many times I've come up with the perfect off-hand remark only to find it's been cut in two and now makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. I don't want to have my minion make a really long speech or anything but more than a handful of words please..........

Yeah, I remember a group I had on CB1 that never fit into the '!' punctuation scheme. They were monks, for godsakes, and yelling just isn't very peaceful when laying to rest the souls of your enemies. ;p

err...you are lucky your battle cries even work. Mine work about 10% of the time, if that. And sometimes even the wrong minion will give his battle cry. I've posted on this a couple of times and others have indicated that their battle cries don't work. So, feel fortunate that you even have one to puntuate.

the only battle cry that works for me is the one on my mage, i just want all of mine to work every time i kill a minion, whoever did the final blow...thats all, i could live with the !

Last time the I was paying attention and the subject was broached about battle cries not sounding, someone speculated it was due to Guardian Angel killing the minion, as such resulting in a no-battle-cry-having kill. Be this the truth, or mere rumor?

GA could cause this....but I don't have GA trained on any minion

Indeed, chet is correct. My current battle cry is: "She Steal Yer Lunch Box?!"
There is no need whatsoever for the exclamation point, it frankly just makes the entire comment awkward. I support this change 87%!

Personally, I enjoy the theme that I created for my team and am disappointed that the appropriate battle cries I've chosen don't work. I hope it does get fixed one of these months.
