Chat Problems-- please disable chat for my account (in Public Record)

I use tabbed browsing and am not yet a supporter (can't afford $10 at the moment, sad to say). This means that, unless a supporter makes a chat channel for me to go to, I end up spamming my default chat channel (currently "New Players").

I have tried to disable chat in settings. Clicking on the box makes it uncheck, but when I refresh (or fight, whatever) it comes back clicked. I use Firefox v1.0.3 and have cookies turned on.

When I get the cash to join, I'll ask the favor again to change my chat status back to normal. For the nonce, for other people's sake, I'd like you to disable mine.

It might be as simple as you doing the unchecking, but not saving that change with the link at the bottom of that section. Try that, you should be able to disable it on your own :)

Make certain you also click 'Set Preferences' to actually save it.
