Newb equipment problem (in General)

Hey guys, I'm new here and just created myself a character, got a pair of minions, and bought a couple rapiers for them... except now I can't figure out how to equip them! I went to "home" and it shows the minions, but without the equipment box I see on the default character's minion. I know I bought the rapiers on the right character because the money's been subtracted and they show up when I go to the forge. Any help?

The rapiers are below the minions. Select the minion name where you want them equipped to in the box behind the item. Then click 'Assign selected items'.

to the right of your wepons, you should have a drop down menu. Select which minion you want to assign the weapon and right at the bottom, just click 'assigned selected items'

wepons = weapons

That's what I meant when I said "equipment box". Nothing was there. I've logged out and back in, and there's still nothing there. And yes, I know what I'm looking for because I can see it on the default character's minion you get when you start.
