Send to Vagabond, thanks Barzoo. I read that book probably a dozen times in Middle School. The first movie was good, but the rest sucked.
Dr. Ian Malcolm was a world-renowned mathmetician and expert in Chaos Theory. He was hired as part of the team sent to the park to prove that it was too dangerous and needed to be shut down.
Specifically, he tried to prove way ahead of time, using Chaos Theory, that the entire idea of genetically re-introducing dinosaurs would end in disaster, and was very smug throughout the novel/movie whenever a new disasterous situation proved him right.
He was my favorite character...
Newman was the best character.
Lew Dodgson: You shouldn't use my name.
Dennis Nedry: [loudly] Dodgson, Dodgson, we have Dodgson here! See? Nobody cares.
