Here we go:
Another of my favorite books from my fantasy library (although a pretty obscure one, I believe) had a main protagonist named Prince Springbuck. He had an enchanted officer's sabre named Bar that was truer and sharper than any other (hence my motivation for naming such a low-level melee weapon).
Prince Springbuck had to align himself with the brother/sister wizard team of Andre & Gabrielle DeCourtney, and the "stranger" van Duyn, in order to summon forth "Lobo" & "The Nine Mob" to save a village and castle from the dragon Chaffinch...

4)The closest I can find for this is they either used magnesium flares or were backed up by an M84 tank with the flares attached to the front. Otherwise Id have to read the book! Might do now though, sounds interesting :P

Brian Daley was more known for writing a series of Han Solo/Star Wars books ("Han Solo at Stars End", " Han Solo and the Lost Legacy", etc.) But I do love his fantasy novels. There's just something utterly cool about the idea of facing demons with machine guns and phosphorous grenades...
The second book is called "The Starfollowers of Coramonde" - I recommend them both wholeheartedly to any fan of fantasy...
