What is the difference in Lesser and 'Full' Tattoos? (in General)

I have two identical level tattoos -- ie both 12670. One is a lesser tattoo of augmentation and one is a tattoo of augmentation. They both produce the same changes to my stats (both Str and Dex) and they have the same NW.

Therefore, my question is: What is the difference between the tattoos? Why pay more for a 'Full' Tattoo, when the lesser will give you the same rewards?

lesser tattos gain levels at a slower rate

with the new PR-NW change, is it possible that the Lesser tattoo is actually more useful?

it would seem like a logical thought but no because you would eventually be crushed by your opponents due to slow leveling

Nixon, tattoos have been linked to PR for awhile, and are not counted against your NW for PR purposes. The lesser being greater used to be true for ToE's, but then the formulae were changed in order to make those higher levels very important to get close to the damage reduction cap.

It may be the case now that LToA's are better than ToA's if the bonus chance to_hit is what you're looking for rather than the stats.

Direct damage familiars get markedly better as their levels grow, so you'd virtually always prefer these to be as large as possible.
