I want a new crossbow. (in General)

Perhaps it would be nice to have a crossbow in the game that is a little more desirable to upgrade than the heavy or light crossbow. The ELB of crossbows, but with a more imaginative name than the Elven Crossbow.

Yeah with the month over tomorrow I doubt it as well. But this will give Jon longer to mull it over before the next change month.

Crossbows need a reaons to be used instead bows.

As it is, there's no reason without archery to use a crossbow. Unless you're trying to use the special properties of the A/EXbows.

There's more of a reaon to not use XBows with archery! ;)

But no reason to use H/LXBows at all. Slings have a use. They might do less damage, but they can shoot in all three rounds.

Well I was actually looking for a reason to use seeker bolts. And not have to equip them on an E/Axbow.

Boo - hxbow does same base damage. Is the upgrade curve problematic for you? Also - I see players using a compound with seeker arrows and foregoing the archery training (bloodlust or something else in its place) - higher base damage (although seeker arrows are rarer).

Exactly that Boo, with horrible costs on xbows even though bolt damage is excellent compared to arrows I don't think the normal xbows have any place in CB.
I would like to see a xbow with upgrade costs somewhere between Compound and ELB (probably a lot closer to Compound) which should be just as rare as an ELB, this will make the Xbow, melee, BL option much more viable.

G Max, I was trying to come up with an alternative to seeker arrows. And also an alternative to the boring Archer. (/Me points and exclaims "darn all you archers and your effectiveness")

hmm.. while at it... why are there three different ammo, for a ranged weapon noone has any use of ? -- (slings/sling shots)

I don't like dwarves. They smell bad, and they're mean.
Maybe Jon could make an xbow similar to the Vorpal Blade in that it partially ignores armor. This idea was mentioned somewhere in CB1. It makes logical sense because bolts are usually heavier, and can pierce armor.

please? that weapon was amazing, it brought an extra wep for those in the mage killing business. as it is, my character is basically set to kill mage teams, with the 1/2 of my exp going to amf, and a giant MGS on my wall, magic missile doesnt really have any chance agiants my back tank. but, a giant fireball can still wreck havok on me. i want a way to kill it.

make one of the xbows seek mages...then we have something that seeks all of the damaging stats in cb. (st/dex/dd)

the armor piercing one isnt a bad idea either, considering the xbows were made to give archers that extra "umph" to pierce armor with. not a bad idea IMO

A mage seeking x bow? You should try mage seeking bolts for your x bow. They are very cheap in auctions.

slings are kinda pointless in cb1 (except as a novelty, as Shade has for MotM), but we dont see anything happening to them...=/ . . . Let alone xbows being dealt with any different than they already are.

Slings and Sling Staves are the only ranged weapons that shoot in all three rounds without the need to train a skill.

The downside is they do very little damage.

i would like a item that give 1000% bonus to all my char.
