Question about Elven Armor (in General)

Ok. I was told that +'s on Elven Cloaks would add 1% to dex and that anything adding to dex also added to skills. So I got a +8 Elven Cloak and added it to one of my UC minions.

This is my UC before I added the EC. Unarmed Combat: 83,796/10,050 (31)

This is my UC after I added the EC. Unarmed Combat: 89,161/10,050 (32)

Now I'm not complaining. I'm just wondering the % there is just above 6% not 8%. Is there some decrease % to skills or is something wrong. Thanks for any help.

Maybe its bonus is applied to XP trained in DEX rather than the value of DEX?

UC effective skill levels increase relative to the amount it would've taken to train up to them, not by a percentage based on DX. Your DX was high enough to hit the step to 32, which is ~5.5k levels over 31.

ok maybe i didn't explain this properly. I was told that dex adding items. like elven cloaks also add to skills. UC being a skill means that it gets this bonus. I am trying to find out how this works. I was expecting a 8% bonus to my skill because of the +8 elven cloak, but i'm getting about 6% bonus to the skill instead of the 8%. That's the question I'm asking. I don't really see how the answers i got were answering this. If so please re-write it and i'll try to re-read it to understand better.

Cylo, I think the +8% bonus would only apply to your natural UC level, before bonuses from Gi/HG's.

Is your natural trained UC 10,050? If so I would have expected you to get an 8% increase on that, which would only be an increase of 804...

But you're seeing an increase of 5,365.

yes. I just did a test by taking off everything and the Elven cloak gave me a 8% increase in my skill. I was adding it after my uc items. And it made a difference because of before bonus and after uc bonus items. So please just forget this thread. lol. I was having a brain fart. lol.
