Newbie Melee Tournament (in Contests)

Seeing that there's a whole bunch of newbies here everyday, I've come up with a simple but crazy tournament that will draw the best out of the newbies here. The rules are simple. The person with the best win loss record after 30 minutes wins. Plain and simple.....but let me explain the more detailed rules too:

1: This tournament is for NEWBIES ONLY. I MEAN IT. Please be considerate vets and let them play.

2: Entry fee is $1000. This is a fair and reasonable amount to enter. Also the fee is NON REFUNDABLE unless otherwise noted.

3: All participants will receive the list of other opponents that are also in the tournament. From there, you will have to battle the players on the list for the 30 minutes. After 30 minutes are completed, the scores are tallied and the winner will receive the prize money by my arrangement.

Thats it for the time being. More guidelines will be posted here on this thread should any roadblocks come up. All questions reguarding the tournament please ask here. I'm available late night/early mornings between 3-6am. I may be on sometime during the day depending on my free time.

I take it that people are going to be starting new characters for this?

I think its a good idea, maybe make it for an hour or a bit longer? Id be willing to throw a ToBF in as a prize if you get more than 10 people to play! :)

Yeah, and not many noob know what contest and tournament are. And not many noob have more than $1000, I just stuck at 19 BA without any money to heal my minions.

how much of a newbie should they be cause ppl reckon im a newbie my pr is 35k

ill do it if there is more ppl my pr is around 25k

Looking at the responses to my tournament here have definitely raised some interesting ideas and questions for this. So let me clarify some "minor" things here:

1: YES, you must start fresh with a new Minion. Being that there are noobs here with high pr, it just would not be fair to be starting within the first five minutes with 20-30 losses. Then the tournament would be useless. Also, the maximum number of minions you can play is 3. You can upgrade them any way you wish BUT, you cannot transfer any weapons, items or money from any previous groups you currently have.

2: The minimum number of entries I'm looking for is around 10-15 people. Spreading the word around would definitely help to get to that number.

3: I also understand that not that many noobs read the boards so look at #2 above and spread the word around guys. I'm considered a noob myself. Thats why I'm doing this contest.

4: Side prizes may be a great idea, but it would be better for now not too cause it may raise problems later say if someone enters and throws in a rare item but later on do not have it or does not compete at all.

5: Finally, being that time is also considered a factor, I have extended the time limit to one hour. 30 minutes is kinda short. Also, I might have to ask some vets to monitor the players competing to make sure that no one is playing after the one hour time limit.

Any other questions or suggestions, feel free to drop them here. I do appreciate the feedback and if this do goes through, I will set a date and time for the tournament.
