I hate the idea of NUB... My solution: (in General)

Be honest, Jon knows what he's doing and what the master plan is.
If he believes that NUB is in the game's best interest, he'll leave it.
If he believes that NUB needs changing, he'll change it.

That's pretty defeatest of you don't you think.

How about I toss in at least one alturnative so that people can argue about it, especially since the title of the post makes them think you might actually have an idea to share.

One solution might be to have the NUB player bonus increase buyable BA instead of all the complications with forging and battle bonuses. Instead you just allow them to battle longer and forge more with no bonus but without the unfairness of just simply handing the new players loads of free BA. An additional 200 or 300 buyable BA each day gives the new player a leg up without the nastiness of a disproportionate MPR to Battles as Challenger ratio.

Aside from that the new player bonus is possibly glitched anyhow since it makes forging an unfinishable process. I have never ever gotten a forging progress back 0 with my NUB. This might be fine for armour but it ruins some weapons for good since you can never complete the process of upgrading + in order to work on x.

It is also very wrong, Jon has changed items and concept around many times. He isn't dumb and he knows if it works or not.

Spaceman, read carefully, if he believes that the bonus needs changing, he'll change it

Dunno where the latest knee jerk change comes in the master plan.

What are you talking about with the forging? It's not gliched. You almost never end on 0.000% rpm because it calculates the increase for the next addition. When you switch from x to + on weapons or vice versa you have to clear that extra percent. It has nothing to do with the NUB, and that is how forging has always worked.

If that is not what you meant, please explain.

reallystupididiot >> Maybe this is just me but this is what I encountered: I upgraded a weapon continuously until I had added +15 to the accuracy, then I went to switch to add damage it reverted the weapon to before the +15 and I lost all my invested BA and money. Maybe that's not a glitch or maybe it has nothing to do with the bonus, but in either case it was unpleasant.

That was either a rollback or some bug you got Vestax, it does not do that normally, it should just erase the extra percentage on the current + you are working on and let you upgrade the X
