Bonus Forge Times? (in General)

I just had an odd thought. I don't know if it would be useful, have any purpose, or be of any benefit, but here goes.

We have periods of time where we get more XP or cash for fighting, so why not the equivalent times for forging? There could be

"lower cost time", where the cost to increase a point is reduced, but the percent increase per cycle is decreased.
"higher percent increase time", where the percent increased per cycle is greater, but so is the cost.

So, in order to abuse it, I just have to upgrade my items to 99% during one period, and pass the 100% during the other period?
