I was just thinking, now that tattoos have growth, maybe your gear could too. Link it into the forging. Maybe give a 100 to 1 ratio (BA spent fighting to BA spent forging), so if something took 40 BA to move +1 or X1 then after 4,000 wins (BA spent fighting), the item grew a point. You could even stage it through the RPM and look and see your progress to the next "level".
Problems, sure plenty. Just an Off the Wall idea :)

Eww, lol, i see where your going with this, but talk about major NW/PR problems...=P

Wait, add in, that only you at the forge can take the item from 99.9% on RPM to 100%. That way it doesn't grow if you do not want it to. It can't grow if you cannot afford it. And the game still has a nice cash sink for item growth. :)

    Maybe.... hrm...
Like... if your item goes to 99.9%, and then stalls to you forge it, that would suck. I'd better get a big flashy chatmail.
But now, what if, after it hit 100% it earned a "forge point" or something, that you could spend at the forge to up it a point. That way, it would just start at 0 and start rising to the next forge point.

:) When I first fought with a tattoo, I posted expressing my hope that there would be other items that grew with your character.
I've always been a fan of living armour!
Linking it to the forge would be a great idea! Or maybe something like the Tattoo Artist. Change his name, and make him able to (at a cost) 'train' your item when it gets enough of it's own xp.
:)

The only way I can see this working is if your rewards from battles were removed, otherwise you'd be getting money for nothing? So if you were rewarded a sum for a battle, the cost to heal is deducted then the rest plowed into the armour/weapon etc. :)

But you'll still need cash to pay the forge/TA to up your item to the next plus..
What it would do is lessen forging maybe.
