Go London, Um, Yay? (in Off-topic)
We won the 2012 Olympic bid. Which is good news. I suppose. I live about 10 minutes from Stratford Station, so things are going to change around here...

Don't talk to me about change... stupid G8 is causing havoc here right now.
Good news for London though. I watched the result coming in live, it was like watching a penalty shoot-out at football.
Bonus that the French were 2nd ;)

The G8 are having haggis for dinner tonight, so all hope of a favorable reaction from the French to the world hunger plans is gone by now ;)

The only people in NY that wanted the Olympics; Politicians, Real Estate developers, and an elite few of the citizens.
The average 'joe' had no desire what so ever to put up with the hassle of millions more people flooding the already crowded streets.
I'm sure it will regenerate the area, and I'll probably sell my house for a lot more now, I just wonder how much my council tax will go up to pay for it...
Has there been any riots near you G?

Yes there's been some riots - more like scuffles to be honest. My office is only 2 miles from the city center of Edinburgh so a lot of the roads have been closed off at various times of the day.
Extra security at the office and being told not to wear suits to work this week are the only things that have directly effected me tho - no big deal so long as I don't want to go into town.
MY sister place threatened to close their office if it got to bad.. I'll have to give her a call and find out if she's got any time off! ;)
Just been shown an e-mail of a French market stall selling "half-price" Paris 2012 t-shirts!
