Do the graphs only update when you're logged on? (in General)

I was wondering when the database added a data point for my individual power / score graph (and everyone else's). Looking at budice's graph for Shield 4, budice hasn't been on for 4 days and has seen a major hit in score, but it's not showing on the graph. I've noticed the same thing with mine if I'm not logged on - the score seems to only update when you are logged on & challenging.

Is this the case?

Yeah I think you need to challenge some fights, not sure how many. Because I have been forging and not fighting at all and things have fluctuated and no data points were added since before I started forging.

Makes sense from a design perspective to control logging data points. But why not then just drop a line in the database every 500 fights, and drop in two extra at fixed times each week? Would cover the necessary granularity to see what happened to your character when it was getting farmed into the dust while you're AFK.

what happens to your score when you're not fighting isn't nearly interesting enough to justify a 10x or more increase in the amount of data stored

and yes, I'm the sole judge of what constitutes "interesting" in this case :)

I was thinking set the interval to keep the same volume of data storage, but make data points more evenly spread over intervals of change in the stats. But I digress. I do not disagree with your definition of "interesting".

If people would really like to know in detail. The graphs are closely related to your MPR changes. Fighting does not add data, going to the training page does not add data, and changing PR by either gains in tattoo power or by changing equipment does not add data. You need to, at the least, go to the train page and use up some xp or untrain some. But I don't think that training xp is a direct cause of graph data either, but it is a prerequisite.

wow, GPV is quite the observant guy lately :)

Thanks Jon, I just notice a few things is all. :)
