My dad always said theres no such thing, but in CB I don't think thats the case. A lot of my time with this game is spent trying to think up crazy ideas that might just work, basing them on simple principles that go well together. My character 'Sparky' works against tanks and mages because of high dx and high AMF. Another idea is to go more mainstream and do blanket damage combined with Dispell. (FB/DM)
My main point is that the better strats get the most out of their MPR. For example; I like the idea of AS combined with a familiar, for two minions and a familiar the granted HP isn't scaled down and the extra HP the familiar get is basically 'free'.
Another I can think of is the weapon networth allowance, that is basically free PR. Im scratching my head a bit to think of any more ideas, but maybe you see what Im getting at. Can anyone else come up with some more? I like the idea of getting something for nowt ;D
Oh yeah, base protection is another. Combine that with a MgS and you still get base protection...

10k AMF and then stop right about there. This little AMF does absolutely nothing for you as you climb higher and higher against most of the mages. However, you'll never need to take it up any higher and you are now pretty much protected from those Base Decay Walls.

The base decay wall is primarily to deal with the SMTOE DM FB guys. I can get 80k of damage with one hit - always sweet. My wall usually dies by first round of melee anyway.
