I'm pretty sure the answer is no. If I challenge & lose, I get a paltry sum of $ and EXP, but I get nothing for getting farmed to the dust? Would it make sense to reward the loser of the battle the same way the lost challenger gets rewarded?
I wouldn't think it would be enough to unbalance game economics, but it would be a nice side benefit to the 3 point clan members who get farmed regularly by players they don't stand a chance at beating.

Jon changed this between 1 and 2. I assume it was to get rid of farms. Which, btw, make so much less cash now.
Yes, farms make no cash now. I use my other characters to hold rental items, and that's about it.
no rewards for losing as defender wasn't a cb2 change
it was part of the Jan 2003 changes on cb1, IIRC
Jon rewards active fighting.
Seems pretty straightforward to me.

Fair enough - I understand the logic that you need to spend BA to create CB $. I was hoping to get something out of getting farmed all the time, especially if it's someone that manages to catch me while I'm burning BA and pulls off 50+ attacks against me in a few minutes if I don't keep an eye on my fight log (NSFY was one).

Just occurred to me though, that if the challenger loses the inactive character who won gets rewarded. So that creates CB$ for no BA for the other side, plus CB$ for the BA spender for the loss. So in effect I'm just asking for the same formula - if the challenger wins the loser should get the losing side of EXP and CB$, so a (relatively) constant amount of CB$ is created no matter who wins the fight.
We don't need more money in this practically swollen market...
Who says farming makes no money?
I make lots from farming.. you just need larger farms...
