Heh, at 100%, that FB does around 329,163 damage...

Now that's a lot more than any of the old archery MPBs.

Consider now, with Archery's recent damage reduction, this FB is worth two maybe three hits?

Physical damage looking sucky to anyone now?

Plus (besides the slightly increasing xp cost) this damage ramps up linearly with FB level, anyone like to hint at the damage FB will be causing by Xmas??

Anyone?

Rubberduck, from my own experiences with an FB mage with FF he's probably not the reason you're dying. Those fights run to 4 rounds right, so you're probably killing yourself with friendly fire.....that's the downside to using FB with more than one minion - if the FB is big enough you will kill yourself in melee.

The melee weapon with the biggest base is not necessarily the best anymore due to the Rock-Paper-Scissors effect.

Would a VB with the same NW do more damage due to the ToE you're fighting against?

one point I neglected to make, I was using an x22 compund there, ot my x75 elb. I usually win, occasiconally draw to him with that. Winning wasn't the point so much as 300k+ damage ;)

I get clobbered by big ELBs with around 100k per strike, 3 times a round straight through a ToE

well just to add to the fun of fight log :) Although I win Good Guy, but well it's also why I don't dump my dear SF and go for TOA :P

Oh and my UC level is Unarmed Combat: 888,374/196,062 (80) . Conservatively estimate to be equivalent to a x90 MH :P

In that case i can only fully agree.
Divide and absorb the incomming damage, then strike hard back.
ToE, +30 MgS and 110k AMF reduces his FB nicely enough to survive, and then you see a full 550k FB.

Ok, some FB damage scores versus Alucard. FB 850k, amf cast at .25
Some fights Tiny gets to fire twice others only once.

Round 1 - 227 205 288 203 188 170 262 224 230 272 205

Round 2 - 337 204 346

As Phaete said you need to divide the FB with at least 2 minions with intrinsic HP and absorb/reflect the damage with amf/armor.

I think that all DD or maybe just FB/FF will see a change before the end of the month. A quick perusal of the top 20 fire familiars with many score/pr/mpr like this 474,500 / 118,191 / 26,879 shows why.

With little AC and no splitting the single ToA tank is still going to get beaten by FB even if there are changes. Seekers are your only hope.

Rubberduck, those numbers seem really low...

Ignoring Alucards 19 AC, without MgS or ToE the only thing he has to reduce your FB damage is his AMF.

Taking an average of your 11 round 1 results gives an average damage of 225K, on a single target.

Working backwards, removing the 25% reduction from AMF (which I'm sure is applied after ranged penalties, due to the fixed backlash) gives an average round 1 damage of 300K.

Removing the 30% Round 1 penatly gives an average damage of 429K.

429K for a no armoured single target seems very low for an 850K FB.

I know my FB s were dealing over half my level in damage to single targets, I'll look back into my old posts for an example.

But anyway, even at 429K thats about equal to 1.5 / 2 hits from the largest pre nerf archery isn't it?

My mistake! From what I recorded of my own FB damage, it did seem to hit around 1/2 my level.

So 429K sounds about right for an 850K FB.

Another thing I'd like to note, when I made my FB + DM too powerful thread, RD s FB was around 700K. Now it's 850K.

I don't think it will be too long before it's 1 mil and we'll see 500K hits!

:) Let's give a rough estimate at FB being able to increase 100K in level a month. That'll be around 1.350 Mil by xmas (675K hits) and somewhere near 2.550 mil (1.275 Mil hits!) by next xmas.

Last thought for the night...

The largest FF in the game is level 646,020. It's named, so get's about a 4% increase to that, making it around level 671,861.

It should, on average, hit a single (low armoured) minion for around 335,930.

That's why people were complaining a while ago about sticking big familiars on small characters.

Imagine what a low level character (who possible even only trained HP s on one minion) could do, imagine how high they could fight and the rewards they could earn...

With a level 697,203 UC I'm lucky to do 300K's worth of damage in my whole fight, let alone in 1 attack...
