The trouble with tattoos is... (in General)

This is designed to stimulate controversy and discussion, so here goes:

1. They have been nothing but trouble
2. They have taken months to evolve and they still aren't perfect
3. There are some huge ones around created by taking advantage of tactics now no longer available.
4. The lessers are pretty useless.
5. It's almost impossible to be competitive without using one.
6. It's hard to have a balanced team with one:
a. ToA favors tank based teams--mage is weak
b. DD tattoos favor mage based teams--tank is weak
c. ToE favors a weak team--they take longer to die :)
d. TBF--what's it good for? I don't know.
7. The entire game is based around the tattoo--look how many changes have occurred related to tattoos. Or, the tail is wagging the dog.

1) I have had no trouble with my tattoo
2) Neither is CB2, some may suggest CB1 was not perfect after many years, let alone months. Perfection is a goal that you can never attain, but should always be strived for.
3) Agreed it is wrong, but there is no "fix" so spilt milk and all
4) Unless you are a new person without a tattoo
5) I think that they are very useful, but not necessary. Its like saying a BTH, Morg, ELS, Blacksword, elbow, axbow, and exbow are necessary for a tank. Or a CoI and corn is necessary for a mage. Sort of stating the obvious that if a tool exists that helps your team be better, then is it a necessary tool? If you want to be better it is, if you do not, it is not.
6) I like my team balance
a) mages are weak anyway ;)
b) a weak tank can be made strong with NW
c) Not sure how longer to die means weaker
d) Hopefully like any tool, a means to use it is there, just not necessarily obvious
7) The entire game is about having fun. What tools you use to have fun is your choice. I would say those who camp or forge do not care about tattoos. As a matter of fact, most campers are practically giving the tattoos they find away :)

Not to say your points are invalid, but this is simply my perspective on your points :)

I'm just picking up on #3 here.

Jon scaled back all the tats that had been bumped up significantly from rentals when he stopped tat rentals.
Using this it means there is nothing wrong about it anymore.
