Comp Nerds Challenge... (in Contests)
Prize: One of CB's finest Daggers, won in an auction for 40k :)
A Dagger [4x11] (+32)
First you must find my IP, and then trace it to the exact location of where I live, and post it here, good luck nerds :)
(And yes this is very possible if you know your stuff)
Oh and the rules:
Try as many times as you wish, Contests ends 2 weeks from now :)

Of my attempts in college, if you want someone to do something, don't insult them ;)
btw Symantec does have a built in search that if someone trys to hack your computer it will take their IP and narrow it down to their exact location.... and no, neither of you where close, let alone close enough :P

If you mean exact by house location I am going to draw a line there.
General public information such as provider, and city/state will be that very line.

August 1 2005 11:15 PM EDT
No I'm sure it has to be in california.
provider, and city/state is closest I will be able to allow I guess.... do you mean province/state or can they also get down to town/city???
btw glory is getting very close :)

Either you or you ISP is in Ontario. Your ISP is a bit shoddy as well, seeing as how tracert did not return pretty results. I'm not digging any further than that for 1.) privacy issues and 2.) I don't care. =P

Your IP is in your transfer logs.
I know that along with allot of other people :) (If my IP wasn't there this "contest" would be allot more harder now wouldn't it?)

Linux would not help mask your IP location, nor provider's location.

If that doesn't do for the contest, then I am out. I got all information that is available for your IP.

Congratulations, thnatic. You've found the address of the headquarters for Pwnage's ISP ;)

yes indeed, my overwhelming skill at this is obvious isn't it :)
Best I can do is London, ON, Canada
or maybe it's Sudbury, ON, Canada
You're using Sympatico, yes?

You may be in Australia, but you have a goofy IP address it is hard to tell.

He is closest so far :P
Wow just with the address being "unknown" too many miss-spelled words
So I guess I must make this longer just to make the "miss-spelled" words in the address work...
And no without the street and number it would still not be correct.... I'm almost ready to just alone accept that :)
Here is the last and final hint, St.Catharines, Niagara Falls.. are all very very very very very close to me :)
There are roughly 10 days left of this contest :)
And for you all that have not relized this yet, My IP has changed I'll just give the new one:
69.159.58.150
My IP changes randomly ;)
5k sent to all that looks like they put hard work into it:
thnatic Looks so far to be the closest, I might just end the contest soon and just give it to him unless someone else can come closer :) (correct city, not city beside me ;) )

Stick, you need to learn how IPs work and where they can be traced back to.
You -----> ISP -----> Internet
See how your ISP gets in the way there? An IP can be traced back to the ISP, the ISP can trace it back to the user.

LOL, of course you are going to have another IP Address unless you pay for a static one from your ISP.
The Dagger is going to go to thnatic pretty soon if noboddy starts to keep trying...

- If all else fails, use <nospellcheck> tags to 'opt out' part of your post from spellcheck. (Choose HTML mode and simply write <nospellcheck>...my text...</nospellcheck>.)
- Ignoring this advice and simply padding your post with extra words to get above the 0.15 threshold without an exceptionally good reason will result in a fine.
