Anyone worked for Radio Shack before? (in Off-topic)

I've got an interview for there on Wednesday. Anyone want to give me an idea on what to expect at the job?

I have a friend that worked there for a few years, I'll give him a ring. I know he didn't like his manager though, which hopefully isn't the case with you.

I am a manager at Radioshack.

Now to answer the whole question,

You have to work for your pay, it is a performance based company. The more you sell, the more you take home, the less you sell the more you blame the company for paying you too little.

With the current changes the company is going through, I do not know what to expect anymore. Loads of new changes getting ready to hit, and in fact your district may already be testing these changes.

The most important thing, go in with a CONFIDENT attitude, but not a cocky one. Talk about what you want from Radioshack for yourself and what you are willing to give back to the company and how you feel the customers will respond.

Did you go from grunt to manager mr. wuss? how long did it take you?

Special J August 8 2005 7:48 PM EDT

I did go from grunt to manager, the time line is not something to go by.

I worked as an associate for 4 years before I bothered to enter into the management training program. The only reason I entered that was because my local store's manager was going to be leaving, which left a perfect situtation for me to get paid much more money for much less physical work.

I was wrong, oh how I was wrong.
