Dogs Of War - A new familiar tattoo idea (in General)

Plain and simple this one: A familiar tattoo. The familiar would be a dog/hound. So it would attack in a UC fashion, no weapons/dd spells. Just HP/ST/DX. And teeth. Big sharp teeth (lol). But being a hound it can also be trained to attack specific targets. So it could target for instance mages like a sort of seeker familiar. Or be trained to go for tanks instead.

It was not unusual for armies to go into battle with dogs. The Romans trained dogs to fight. And it was customary for Celtic warriors to have hounds. It's not too dissimilar to a Jig but with the training element adding a bit of extra interest....

If I was the dog, I'd run the opposite way from a mage's fireball :)

Cool idea, actually. Maybe the training aspect can be added to the ToJ as an option from the TA?

Lol. Yeah my old dog used to hide behind the couch when it heard fireworks so you're probably right as far as fireworks. I was thinking of two types (does anybody want to target enchanters?) - the mage seeker and the tank seeker. Being separate tattoos. And unlike the Jig and UC being able to attack in ranged. The idea being that you would unleash the hounds to attack first. So maybe a ranged only UC type attack?

Certainly I suspect a tank seeking attack of some kind would be popular... =)

*fireball - 'right as far as fireball'

There are lot's of tanks out there and if I made a CoC archer using a ToA to develop the ST and DX needed, one could say I was both mage and tank. Maybe what you mean is have the hound attack a person with the highest stat in a group. Then you could just change the stat, maybe via the TA. The options would be any stat plus general categories such as DD, Skills, EO, and the like.

Yes you could do it that way. Or just maybe leave the dog to get really confused when faced with a CoC archer.... =)

I would have it so it only goes for attacking minions - ie DD spells or weapons. Where weapons are concerned it could target the weapon with the highest NW. You could trick it by putting a large weapon on an enchanter I guess but would most people wouldn't want to add to their PR just to fool an attack would they?

i think it should aim for tanks because mages are getting slaughtered by AMF so why not get something to slaughter tanks in return the "hound" should attack the highest ST+DX
