How does Protection stack? (in General)

If I train protection on multiple minions does it stack like any other spell?

If I have protection (5) on one minion, and protection (9) on another, should the total be (14)? If not, How does this work? Thanks.

I put protection on two minions this morning. Two base - (4) - protections stacked as (5). Seemed like a waste of XP on one of the minions to me - especially as it only takes a very small DM to smash them both.

Dunno how they stack as the numbers get higher though...

No enchantments stack by effect, they all stack by level.

I noticed the same thing. Doesn't it seem odd that Protection doesn't stack like other EDs? It's fairly expensive to train and it goes up so slowly. Why shouldn't it stack like other EDs? Has anyone trained Protection above base level on more than one minion?

Undertow--I think you nailed it--thanks. So it's the experienced trained and not the effect that stacks.

precisely.
