Three minions... The CB cookie-cutter (in General)

:(

The more I think about it, the more I see a three minion team as the standard on CB.

1) Enchanter: You choice of EO and ED.

2) Wall: MgS and High AC. base Protection and Decay optional.

3) Your damage dealing minion. Either a ToA Tank, or ToE Mage.

This set up covers just about all bases nicely, and I put it down to the restrictive, yet it seems necessary MgS.

You can't use a MgS on a single minion, and it basically forces a second minion to be a wall. Adding a Third for enchantment purposes (usually an EO) helps by taking xp strain from your main damage dealing minion.

I think also, a lot of 3 minion teams were created by people higher up in level who started single minion or duo then bought a 3rd. Then if you're like me you would love to be able to afford to buy a fourth but you're stuck as a trio for the time being!!

There are also some 4 minion teams that have fired their fourth minion for being more of a fifth wheel! ;)

With 3 minions like the above, you have all bases covered. a fourth is just extra gravy.

But when you think about it a four minion team can be a waste of a minion. Unless you have a need for those extra spell slots or you started 4 early so you've a decent mage say AND a tank there isn't much point to that minion except to soak up damage. Of course you could just put into place two walls instead of one....

You got there first. We seem to be agreeing a lot today GL.... I must be ready for the funny farm

:)

It's just all my stalking making me think alike to you.

What was that Bridget Fonda movie called?

Single White Fe-Mage?

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] August 26 2005 8:39 AM EDT

Fe-Mage.... *Shudder*

That conjures images...

Don't go there...

Hmmm lets see of the top ten only 3 are 3 minion. While I am not going to argue that this is not a good set-up it is hardly a cookie cutter set-up.

There are too many options out there (and in use) to call any of them a cookie cutter. People use everything from solo tanks or mages to full on 5 minion balanced teams.
