Public Service Announcement (in General)

AdminJonathan September 1 2005 9:37 AM EDT

If you are the sort who forgets passwords, please make sure you give CB a valid email address so CB can mail the password to you.

I've had two people CM me in the past 24h saying they have friends who forgot their passwords but didn't give a valid email.

Sorry, guys: you're screwed. We have no way of verifying you or your friend is the real owner of the account, other than through the email address.

Ohh Darn hehehe makes me stronger than Mitchell then (The3Stooges) oh and does this mean he has permission to start a new account, it surely couldn't be multi-ing.....could it?

Starseed^Lure September 1 2005 12:09 PM EDT

As long as he isn't seen logging into the old account it will not be considered a multi.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] September 1 2005 12:15 PM EDT

that's not really true

otherwise I'd have "forgotten" my pass long ago.

bartjan September 1 2005 12:38 PM EDT

Seeker: wrong. Multi is multi.

cant you just delete the account if it is unactive for an extended period of time, and then let them re-sign up? then there is no way for them to transfer from the old account. (Since its gone).

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] September 1 2005 12:41 PM EDT

I'd do that just to get the NUB....

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] September 1 2005 12:47 PM EDT

I'd take a reset and a million dollar - to my chars $$$ (if I could find a way to heal)
for the nub

smallpau1 - Go Blues [Lower My Fees] September 1 2005 12:50 PM EDT

they probably werent supporters...lol. Thats why i said it...=P

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] September 1 2005 12:58 PM EDT

kinda funny, you could start now as a non-supporter, use up your NUB, sell off everything for $US, let the account die, and repeat! a year of that and you'll have enough to buy ranger twice.

bartjan September 1 2005 1:42 PM EDT

In my opinion, your first account is the only one account allowed.
Starting over on a new account (without using the older one) means not only the possibility of abusing the NUB, it also means a way of hiding any reputation as a person you've built up. This eventually will weaken the system of trust used for trades between users.

bart is correct on all counts.
