New BL, final nail for UC... (in General)

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] September 1 2005 12:31 PM EDT

With BL now being a no lose skill to train (unless you're an archer, and really want that third attack), UC has taken a bad hit.

Any melee tank has no reason not to train BL now. UC damage was less than weapon damage anyway, it has no way to compete with x2 damage from BL.

:(

final nail in the cardboard coffin that UC has been living in for the last 3 years?

big deal...the only decent tank strat was nuked.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] September 1 2005 12:34 PM EDT

Second UC thought. Is the UC weapon a 1 handed or 2 handed weapon? I suppose it could be checked by observing shield penatlies to dex?

AdminJonathan September 1 2005 12:35 PM EDT

the BL use scenario basically hasn't changed; most people got WAY too scared by "oh no I'll take more damage" without measuring how much damage that was.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] September 1 2005 12:35 PM EDT

Novice, there's not a fine line between only decent strat and only strat used because it's very powerful...

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] September 1 2005 12:38 PM EDT

Wasn't it a blanket extra 20% on anything you got hit with?

Novice, what was thie only decent tank strat? ToA + BL?

ToA got reduced for every tank start. Archer, BL tank or UC. BL got buffed.

So what exactly is this single decent strat that got ruined?

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] September 1 2005 12:41 PM EDT

Jon, if people where scared by the additional damage taken by a BL user, now that's gone, won't more people use it than before?

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] September 1 2005 12:44 PM EDT

I wasn't trying to be that specific, I just don't see why a non-ToA tank should
ever beat a ToA tank...ever.

Chocolate Thunder September 1 2005 12:53 PM EDT

Does UC count as a one handed weapon or a two handed weapon?

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] September 1 2005 12:57 PM EDT

If you both use 1 handed weapons, I don't see a non ToA tank still beating a ToA tank.

But maybe if the ToA tank switched to 2H the non ToA would have a chance...

But I think that's great! More options, more strat!

The question, " Does UC count as a one handed weapon or a two handed weapon?" does not apply.

The pth from UC is gained not through money but through xp. This means that there is no way that making it "cheaper" would actually do anything.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] September 1 2005 1:28 PM EDT

It does matter, if it's one handed, it gains the boost to base pth, which includes the dex based hits.
