Suggestion: Chatmail modification (in General)

Just an idea that popped into my pea-sized brain. At the moment users have the option of receiving Chatmails via the home page (main.tcl) or in chat. Or even just visiting the chatmail summary page.

Sure this system DOES work, I'm not saying it doesn't, but I think it'd be a good idea if we all just got a notice that we had unread chatmail on our LHS menues. Say under just a message, that hyperlinked to the chatmail page, saying "You have unread mail." Then you had the option to read the chatmail at your pleasure, instead of having it forced in front of you when you log in, or come back to chat.

Just a thought of mine, and what are your thoughts?

yeh, would be good to be alerted in a more visible area once i get a CM, other than having to go to 'Home' all the time to check if i have a CM..

The page on the left doesn't reload and isn't real time. It couldn't just poop out a new link as soon as you have mail, you'd have to reload it, same as going to the home page.

Higher, Lower, Reset, etc. :/

because your not a supporter you have to click that, supporters do not, because we use a favorites list. so once you become a supporter you wont hit that button to make the left frame refresh. This will not be implemented by the way, chatmails will stay the way they are...lol

But doesn't the fav's list update on the left frame based on comatose characters?

The list box updates but the frame does not as far as I can tell.

How does that wonderful thing work? A list updating w/out the whole page... Amazing.
