Anybody know of any service in the US like Remind4u.com (only works in UK)?

It send reminder text messages to your mobile.

it costs enough money to send text messages in the US that I doubt you'll find someone doing it for free

Sending a text message to somebody is generally free. Most SMS-equipped phones have an email-address equivalent. Send the message to that, the carrier converts it to a text message and forwards it along. Even in the USA.

So... if you can cause an email to be sent when you want it to you can cause yourself to be text messaged.
