Name verification / supportership problems/suggestions (in General)

I think the most suspicious thing that people get away with all the time is getting somebody else to buy their supportership.... yes I know this is legal to get somebody to buy your supportership, but......

if there was a requirement to make people verify their identity through credit card or some other kind of free verification, than that would cut out almost all multis.... I know this would put a major damper on all the young players out there but this is a game where kids can take advantage of things because of lack of moral standards and responsibility... (major example "Monty" and a few other players that have jumped ship on cash deals.)

the 1 thing that multis can't get around is hiding their name through pay pal....

supportership is not necessary to play but incredibly helpful and most players want and need it.........

I was placing this post on the hellokitty ip address post but I feel this one needs a new line of attacks.... have fun ripping me apart on this one and if any of you agree please feel free to back me up on some and add to the suggestion pool

I happen to have 2 paypal accounts. Although I did use the same name and almost the same email when creating those, it would have been perfectly possible to use any name you'd like when signing up for a paypal account. Theoretically you also could create even more (paypal) accounts, but that's against paypal's TOS.

It's not that hard to get a credit card in someone else's name. You can even get one for your dog to use.

It may or may not be legal depending where you live... but it's certainly possible.

I don't even have a credit card, no need for that for paypal.

The only thing a credit card is needed for on paypal is instant payments when your paypal account has no funds present.

Otherwise only a bank account is needed.

Yep, us kids are so irresponsible, possibly the larger portion of CB is under 18
I see no problem with this, how bout we just take USD out of the game and see how good it is?

Since our Admin already said, muilt account can share the same IP and Paypal address, how about let's leave to that =).

that must be one sad dog to not be allowed to use the card, they should have charged a ton of money on it and then tell the company that the dog can't pay.

Well everybody seems to be getting off the original reason I intended this post to be for...

I was really looking for any other ideas on name verification pay pall was an option, using credit cards is another...

wuss's idea about not using free common email providers is good....

yes there are ways to get credit cards in other peoples names but that is illegal I don't think somebody will go to that extrem by breaking the law just to cheat on a game...

making cb more multi-proof is good

making it harder for legit players to get into the game is bad

it's easy to to accomplish the former if you're willing to take the latter as well, but in the long run that's not a good tradeoff to make
