How do you make the mad lootses forging? (in General)

So I'm sitting here doing a test run of NUB-fueld forging on my 660k MPR 117% NUB char. So far, I've dumped about 200 BA into this here MH and I've netted about 60k total. That's about what I would've earned fighting. From what I'd heard, I assumed I would be earning hand over fist.

Am I doing something wrong? Are there "best" items to forge to turn a profit? What do you super-forgers do?

Umm the only plus to forging I have seen is that it is easier then fighting. And quicker

My forger forged 3.5mil per week into my BONE.

I barely earn 1mil from fighting per week. Of course I am without NUB so I dont' know if you can earn 3.5mil from fighting alone.

forging isnt that great. It leaves you with the same amount of money - the exp. The only plus it serves is if you are forging your own weapon.

Just forge for the entire NUB (after around 200k MPR), save up the millions of money. Stay safe in 2 change months without worrying the strat being nerf or items you bought suddenly become useless. Then at the end of the NUB, use your a few million to buy one of the top char (normally a few dudes will leave the game per change month), use the rest of money to buy some useful items and you are set. You are still competitive and nothing much on the losing side.

Gotta love the NUB :)

I already explained in another of these threads why forging is very useful. Specifically because you don't gain PR.

Anyhow, back to the point (yes I have a point, for a change). If you're looking to make money quickly, just fight. Fight, fight, fight! Go nuts with it. Just keep fighting. It's been proven numerous times recently by CB's math nutters that forging will not gain you much more money than fighting.

The only time I'd recomend forging is if you're running a tank character (or anything NW dependent) and have significantly less NW than those at your PR. If this is the case, then you'll want to stop and forge. Otherwise your time is best spent fighting.

Forging makes much more than fighting when you can't fight people at your level because there's a hole in your strat. It allows you to get cash via an alternate route when you can't get anything substantial via fighting. Then, you can use the money to fix your strat and once again resume fighting. When your only other choice is dumping USD in to buy $CB2, forging is a nice option.
