Anyone work at Lowes? (in Off-topic)

If so, what do you think of the company.
This means I want to know what you think of the company as a whole and not the guy who is your boss and might happen to be a jerk.

I have been offered a job in the management system at Lowes, not a department manager, not an area manager, not a stock manager, but into the program for Store Op Managers and Store Managers.

They made an offer that took me for a bit of a spin, so I turned in my notice at Radioshack.

Congrats mrwuss!

I've heard both good and bad things about Lowes management... and they also got a new CEO recently so it's a coin toss wether the place if better or worse than before.

I think it's important for you to get a feel for the place from the perspective of a customer. If it's a place you like to shop and the employees seem happy and empowered I'd say go for it.

Lowes doesn't happen to be a place I shop, not much there I need. Most of the long term employees (read : not the college kids looking to make a buck to party) seem to be happy with their jobs, at least on the outside. I know I put on a happy face when I goto work now, but I do hate the way radioshack is going.
