Not that it matters... (in General)

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] November 7 2005 9:36 PM EST

but if Jon had just increased rewards a little there would have been no need for the NCB or NUB...if you fight the higher lvl opponents you can beat...those with a score that is multipules of your pr, you should gain rewards quickly...sadly it's not that way anymore.

This char has a score almost 200k higher than mine...the rewards are dismal. I might 5 times that money already on my 60k NCB...I don't want to talk about how much the XP difference is...

Stephen Young November 8 2005 6:53 AM EST

Yeah, if there was some way to modify the reward code so that beating 'higher score' characters generated much better rewards, with less NUB or NCB multiplication to those 'higher score' wins, it would be interesting.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] November 8 2005 6:58 AM EST

And remove the top ten exemption from the penalty of fighting down...

AdminJonathan November 8 2005 10:08 AM EST

increasing the incentive to artificially manipulate score would be a Bad Thing

QBJohnnywas November 8 2005 10:13 AM EST

I'm sitting here at home, feverish, ill, bored out of my mind by British daytime television. And I have to say Jon, that is a scary scary user pic.. brrrr...*shiver*

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] November 8 2005 1:20 PM EST

all hail our dark lord!

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] November 8 2005 1:23 PM EST

I'm still a little confused what you mean Jon..are you saying that any increase in rewards based on fighting higher score chars would be disasterous? What do you mean by artificially increaseing score?

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] November 8 2005 1:31 PM EST

People might be tempted to lower their score drastically before logging off to lower the rewards for fighting them? Or something along those lines! ;)

Admin{CB1}Slayer333 [SHIELD] November 8 2005 6:33 PM EST

with the negative EXP/money gone there would be little (nothing?) to stop someone from unequipping all of their gear at the end of the day when they log off, so smaller chars could beat them (most likely unequipping a tattoo on a mage team)

That is what Jon means by manipulating score, I believe

Synco November 8 2005 6:41 PM EST

If rewards are no longer based on opponents' score, what are they based on?

Lumpy Koala November 8 2005 7:44 PM EST

just lower the rewards from both NCB and NUB by a mere 20% and that would be sufficient. The gap between those with bonus and those without is just too wide. It's like the status between the rich and the poor in a capitalism system.

AdminJonathan November 8 2005 10:31 PM EST

as opposed to a socialist system where everyone is poor except for the party elite, right?

Quark November 8 2005 10:36 PM EST

Lol! Equal opportunity, not equal outcome.

Wonderpuff November 8 2005 10:39 PM EST

Equally Miserable!

Lumpy Koala November 8 2005 10:40 PM EST

hehe right on !

AdminNightStrike November 8 2005 11:05 PM EST

I thought rewards were based on fighting characters with high score relative to your PR. Isn't that what is in the help and the wiki?

AdminJonathan November 8 2005 11:51 PM EST

whoever assumed that my comment means rewards are not based on score was wrong. ok?

QBOddBird November 8 2005 11:57 PM EST

from what I've noticed personally, it seems score determines more on the money side and PR/MPR determines more to the exp side. But then, I really am just looking at overall fight rewards, and probably am totally off-base with that thought. It had crossed my mind several times before, though. Just thought it was worth throwing out there.

QBBast [Hidden Agenda] November 9 2005 12:40 AM EST

Whatever it is you've been throwing around, Oddbird, it smells ... bad. Did you get this throwing things idea from The Troll Story?

QBOddBird November 9 2005 12:43 AM EST

probably. Like I said, it's probably wrong. It just seems like it to me. But then, I'm also Oddbird....I'm not known for being a wiz with calculations...
